Insufficient service points but good stopover base

Stayed here enough route from The North to the West Country. Site directions were good so easy to find. Lots of grass pitches which suited us in the warm weather and gave more space. Wardens were not fussy nor regimented about pitching rules. The only waste bins were at the toilet blocks so quite a trek unless you pitched very close by. Not sure why this is? There are water service points around but too few for the size of the site. The dog walk us literally that - a pathway through a wooded glade so no opportunity for off lead. This is disappointing considering the vast number of people who travel with their animals. There is nothing in the local walking vicinity other than the Caravan and Camping site which is right next door so you are a bit restricted if you don't have a car or independent transport. So, in summary, a good stopover site but we would not want to stay for longer.
