Good site, well kept, friendly staff

My husband and I just spent 3 nights at this site after visiting Upton Folk Festival. The site is well kept and the staff were friendly and helpful. Toilet/shower blocks were kept clean but are looking a bit tired and could maybe do with an upgrade. The site was not full so did not feel crowded, though I suspect it could when all the pitches are occupied. There are no dividing hedges between the pitches so you would be lined up in rows. The site was mostly peaceful but for the almost constant daytime noise of the tractor going round mowing. I realise this is a dilemma - people like neatly mowed grass and it will insist on growing so it has to be cut. It just seemed that every time I settled down in the sunshine with my lunch or a drink, the roar of the tractor would start up. It was nice when it stopped though. The bus service that is advertised is a great bonus. The site office lent us a bus timetable. You turn right out of the site entrance and the bus stop to Worcester is only 400 yards along the footpath on the right. If you want to travel in the direction of Tewkesbury you have to wait on the other side of the road in front of a house. There is no bus stop sign and it is confusing. The timetable on the Bus Stop on the Worcester side of the road states that buses to Worcester stop Adjacent to Blackmoor End Caravan Site and then says buses for Tewkesbury stop Opposite Blackmoor End Caravan Site. We were confused as to where we had to stand so went to wait opposite the site entrance. Needless to say, despite our waving arms, the bus went sailing past without stopping. Pity as we would have liked to have done that trip. The following day we had a great day out in Worcester visiting the Cathedral, Tudor House Museum and the Guild Hall - all free of charge to enter. The bus fare was £5.00 for me and my husband was able to use his bus pass. That was probably cheaper than a car park (not that motorhomes can park in Worcester anyway) so well worthwhile. Just remember that the bus stops are opposite each other even though there is no bus stop sign on the other side of the road.
