Fabulous base for a family holiday
Just returned from a 15 night stay, 2 adults, 2 children (7 and 2) and dog! What a superb holiday! This site is easily reached from the M5, but in a lovely rural village. Smallish Co-op and big Waitrose within 10 mins drive in Malvern, plus a choice of takeaways. Loads to see and do, we didn't travel more than 40 mins from the site for any days out. National Trust members have plenty of choice of places to visit - Brockhampton has to be the most picturesque NT property I have visited to date. Avoncroft museum is a worthwhile visit esp for the children, and is dog friendly. Eastnor Castle even allows dogs into the castle! ...a first for us. The Jinny Ring craft centre is a lovely setting and you can watch craftsmen (and women!) at work, and has a large duck pond and walks from the site. Upton on Severn is very pretty with it's black and white timber framed buildings. Clives fruit farm, pick your own is 10 mins away, you can feed the pigs, chickens, ducks, and there is a play area, cafe and farm shop. I could go on.....!
Caravan site has a children's play area which our two loved to frequent! Toilet block was spotless, and parent and baby room was great for bathing our 2 year old. Recycling and rubbish bins in large receptacles at the toilet block. We opted for grass pitch, and ended up with a massive expanse of grass for the children to play on as most seemed to go onto the hardstanding pitches. All quiet at night, allowing the owls to be heard, buzzards were spotted through the day. Even had a squirrel raiding out rubbish bag in the awning at 7 o'clock one morning! Dog walk is fully enclosed within a wooded area, with bark paths.
Being 10 mins drive from 3 counties show ground, we saw gun dogs on site the first weekend, and some massive trailer/caravans the second weekend, due to a country and western convention! There were a lot of people staying for only a few nights, but this site really is worth staying far longer. We will definitely be back. It gets a massive thumbs up from us!
