Lower Wensleydale

A site in a good location to enter and explore the dales and beyond. Helpful warden allocated a pitch suitable for my wife as she has mobility issues. The ehu post needs some attention as it wasn't firmly fixed to the ground and showed signs of wear which I suspect could be an issue if it is left as it is. It is quite apparent that this is not a club owned site as the facilities fall shirt of the usual standards Entering the site is via a steep single carriageway hill that has a sharp bend mid way. There are signs clearly stating that single vehicles give way to towing vehicles. On the day of our departure I set off up the hill and took the bend when I met a bin wagon coming down the hill. Initially the bin wagon driver refused to reverse and allow me to pass on up the hill. After a short while he took it on board that I was not going to move and so he created a space by slightly moving over for me to pass. On my return home I emailed the incident to the club only to be told that I should get in touch with the bin company and report the matter. My point being is that the signs on the approach seem to be only directed to club users, and should you have a similar experience don't expect any support from the club. In conclusion I shall probably not pay this particular site another visit.
