Desperately seeking TLC

This was my first visit to this site and spent 4 nights here over the Easter weekend. Upon arrival we were greeted by familiar friendly wardens who offered good advice and were always on hand as ever. Following a chat with another caravaner I learnt that the club didn't own the site but only managed it for the owners. This was certainly reflected in the standard of the site, it was not to the club standard that I we expect. Although very clean, the showers and toilets needed a full refurbishment and the roads were compacted stones and not the usual tarmac. The pitches weren't fully gravelled and didn't reach the road so due to poor weather cars and Motorhomes were wheel spinning and getting stuck, something that could easily have been avoided if the pitches were of the usual size and standard. Being high up and prone to wet weather and snow which is what we woke up to on Bank Holiday Monday, you would expect there to be a plough attachment for the small tractor to clear the snow for arrivals and departures but unfortunately not. Luckily there was a couple of keen men who cleared the main route out of the site and we cleared the area from our pitch to the road. I think arrivals should be moved back an hour to allow departures to leave with out meeting each other when you get people arriving early and meeting in the non passible road. On the plus side it is very scenic and quiet with plenty of walks for those who enjoy walking. I don't think that this site should be advertised as a club site unless someone spends some money and bring it up to the standard it should be. Sorry but I will not be returning unless something is done here.
