Site is new but looks like it will be lovely once they bushes and trees have grown. Play park looks fantastic (unfortunately my son is too old, so we didn't try it) Reception was helpful and polite. Cafe is small, basic and its also the pizzeria, staff could do with smiling occasionally. The toilet block is nice, clean and has plenty of cubicles but, and its a big but, the showers are awful, they must have been designed by someone who doesn't shower! the drain is in front of the door (where you dress) so no way to dry feet. The water from the cubicle next door also flows across the floor. They shower itself is automatic, so no temperature control (set at warm) and the room itself isn't overly warm.
Pitches are big and fully serviced (which was great we don't usually use these)
Site is a little expensive unless you're bringing several children and making the most of all the facilities (which includes public hot tubs, with strangers! Which you can all watch from reception, some were people were enjoying this) Some facilities are still being built so looks a bit building site at the moment.
We won't be back, except maybe in 10 years, with 4 grandchildren.
Everything appears new and the site has a holiday park feeling.. Not overly impressed with the reception on arrival, functional but not welcoming, they would benefit from visiting some of the club sites and learning from the wardens how to welcome a guest. The pitch is pre-allocated before arrival and was good, level and fully serviced. Facilities are outstanding and recreation activities planned throughout the stay. I read many reviews before we decided to come and try this site for ourselves. My biggest issue is justifying the cost, we are most definitely off season and at 25 pounds a night (including the generous 1 pound a night discount for C&MC members) do not consider it to have been value for money but paid out of curiosity. The add on fees for use of the many other facilities could easily result in a very expensive visit for a family. I cannot say I was blown away by my love2stay experience but I cannot really put my finger on why. We shall not be rushing back but at least we came and saw it first hand.
We spent two days at Shrewsbury's Love2Stay this week and were very pleased. The site staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our pitch was large and fully serviced. The facilities were spotless, warm, and of the highest standrad. Shrewsbury is an easy cycle or even a walk (about 2.5 miles). We walked along the Severn which had broken its banks a bit, but was nonetheless a nice stroll around 4 miles. The hot tub was also fun. A great upmarket site and not particularly expensive.
Came here and had a 3 night stay. A great price at £19 per night, can not moan about that. There are a few things that need sorting out and could be classed as snagging list items. We arrived and found the lay by for arrivals a little tight so be careful entering from the bay. Views were very good and you could see easily over to the Wrekin. A well laid out fully serviced pitch that had all you needed. No TV point as that was not needed as the Wrekin transmitter is only 7 miles away. Toilets looked good but there are no privacy cubicles and so no where to hang your clothes whilst having a wash. Also the drain for the water in the showers is towards the drying area so it would have been better to be near the wall, water could have been hotter for me. Spoke to a grandparent who was a little dubious about washing the kids in the provided sink as no privacy for them either, they were told there is a private family bathroom but it was £20 a time. Toilet cassette washing looks good but the price has now risen to £4 a go. There is some road noise from the A5 as well. The WiFi was good as there were no restrictions on how many items could be connected at a time and the speed was good. Site at night is a little dark but this helps you to see the stars at night. Bins are away from the vans so a bit of a walk to them depending on you pitch. Some great added facilities are available at varying costs to keep you on site. One other thing there is no shop on site for those important things you forgot like milk etc so that would be good to have in the future. Would I visit again? Yes if the price does not rise too much as it is in a great location. Park and ride is a real bargain at £2.50 for 2 adults from the park and ride schemes (includes parking). Hope this will be of help to others to decide about their visit, go and make up your own mind.
We have just spent a few days on this new site. Extremely busy at the weekend when we arrived so much seemed to be going on. The warden in charge was kept very busy on our arrival and went out of her way to get us near our friends already on site. The pitches are large and have water, waste both brown and black (although you need to be using green in the toilet to use). As the pitches are large at the weekend there appeared to be many extra cars on pitches making the site appear incredibly busy. The toilet block (amenities building) is state of the art, seeing is believing, everything is automatic. I thought the shower water appeared rather cool and with the air vents made showering a rather a cold experience. Unfortunately there is no way to increase the heat of the water in the shower. Hair and hand dryers are Dyson - I'm now getting a Dyson Hairdryer for Christmas! There are Gym's, hot tubs, fishing, swimming, kite flying and so much more keeping little, middle and big ones entertained all day! I'm not sure if the current price rates will continue but they do compare with the Clubs super pitch prices but give so much more. Would highly recommend another visit, just hope they turn up the water temperature in the shower. PS It's a bit of a walk to the bins, they are opposite reception, so you need to drop off your rubbish on your way out each day!
This site sets the standards and other clubs and sites owners need to take a good look. Soon as you arrive in reception you are greeted and welcomed into the impressive reception area. No grumpy uniformed warden playing god but lovely friendly people who go through all the details of the site and the facilities. Showers top class , toilets first class ,washing up area and laundry the same. I accept its new but the vision and investment by Salop Leisure should be applauded . The Pods are unbelievable with high spec fittings and fixture throughout Nothing but praise on all levels at last a site with vision.......well don Salop
This has got to be the best site we have ever visited every pitch is fully serviced including cassette emptying port all the pitches are large some with fantastic views it is a little open to the elements at the moment but this will improve in time when the shrubs and trees mature. The owners really have thought of everything included in the price (which by the way is very reasonable) are hot tubs swimming pool kids play area fishing pond gymnasium cinema tent small football field all away from the caravans, the toilet facility's are some thing else very spacious shower cubicles automatic water release from the hand basins with digital readouts for water temperature and time left Dyson hair driers baby bath and baby changing facility's,there is even a dog wash and a drier in a room out the back but my favorite is the chemical toilet emptier and cleaner for 2 pounds it empty's your cassette and cleans it and returns it with green fluid in ready for use.We will definitely be back .
This really is an amazing site. Although when we visited at the end of July there was still some work going on on the camping pods and some of the grassed areas, Love2Stay really have got this right. The quality of all the facilities were excellent and really sets the standard for other sites to follow or get left behind. The benefit of all pitches being super pitches, with water, electric and waste disposal including cassette waste with bio toilet fluid was a real bonus. Didn’t go to the cinema as there were no films that took our fancy but had a look around during the day and it looked really good. A few people were trying out the gym which looked to be well equipped but we're not gym people. The open air swimming pool was also really good but a little cold for me to venture in but hey, it was an open air pool and everyone who used it were having a great time. The coffee and cakes sold at the coffee shop were excellent, as were the pizzas. I had booked the site as I intended to try the fishing but I got the impression that the lake needs to mature for a couple of years for it to come into its own. There’s a garden centre and a caravan showroom and accessory shop at the end of the drive which came in handy for some spares that we needed during our stay. Lots of activities to keep the children occupied too. Shrewsbury and Ironbridge are well worth a visit as are the National Trust properties close by.
If you check reviews on other forums you could be discouraged to try this site as some are quite negative, but the people who work there that we came into contact with were extremely welcoming and could not do enough to make sure your stay was one to remember. We will definitely be visiting Love2Stay again, hopefully in the near future before the word gets out and all the pitches are booked.
