Noise and more noise

Having stayed at this site I cannot imagine how the club can call it ‘value for money’! We booked a serviced pitch and assumed that this would be in a suitable location for all caravanners and motorhomers could enjoy. ABSOLUTELY wrong, the pitches were directly opposite the children’s play park and the tennis and football courts. Noise carried on until late into the evening and when the football and tennis courts were closed at 8 pm the children and youth’s converged on the play park that stayed open. The slide was used and a drum and the roadway a raceway until 10 pm and beyond. The pitches on the upper side of the site do not meet the required 3m distance and some members could not pitch properly. If we could demand a refund then we would do.

As Husky said, the site plan tells all. It’s always worth checking in advance.

Also if you had an issue, did you not speak to the wardens at the time and have you taken the spacing matter up with the sites dept?

Did you not look at the site plan before you booked ???

You probably don't expect the noise to be too great or to carry on too late.

Last time we stayed at this site the play park was much smaller and the slide was not a tube that echoed feet and hands banging, also it was interesting that the ball park and tennis court closed at 8pm but not the play park. Looking at site maps does not give the true picture and we should not expect the noise level that this position gave. We have stayed at many sites that have play parks but never really had the same issue with noise.

The site plan clearly shows at least half of the serviced pitches to be directly opposite the play area and crazy golf. Sorry to disagree but it jumped out and hit me in the face, it was so obvious. They are the last pitches I’d want to be on during the school holidays.

As I asked before, did you speak to the wardens and take the matters up with the sites dept? I’m interested to know what was said or done.

I should point out that we are NOT anti children, my wife is a teaching assistant working with very young enthusiastic children.

You are quite correct when you say that the site plan shows exactly where the pitches are located, we had options! Firstly, as the site was full we could have chosen the worst of all grassy pitches that were left, I wouldn’t pay any amount to stay on these and couldn’t possibly remember seeing anyone on them whom could level their caravans. (See other feedback on this same issue) Secondly, being someone that finds certain tasks difficult to perform for medical reasons the service pitches were chosen to help with this.

The noise from the play park during the day is acceptable, but for the serviced pitches and a lot of surrrounding pitches was intolerable late in the evening and night. Why don’t we as a club set a time limit for their use so that everyone’s can enjoy their holiday?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I approached a warden to discuss the noise but he was so busy dealing with other matters that we didn’t get to talk very much about the noise.
