Enjoyable stay at Looe Bay

My Wife and I had a relaxing 15 day break at Looe Bay after a busy year, we found the site was excellent, very friendly staff and the facilities met our requirements. After reading some of the reviews of this site I can say we had no experience of noise or disturbance or unruly children. I did have conversations with other members whilst on holiday and understand there were some problems at the top of the site with power and the shower-block. I can understand the frustration if there were such problems. Having toured as a child for many years with my parents I used to look forward to the freedom that caravanning brings, its a rich experience for children to travel around various parts of the country experiencing the joys the United Kingdom has to offer. In my latter years I now have the pleasure of owning a caravan, I am a parent and also have many nieces and nephews so I understand the importance of managing play, ensuring children have freedom but also act respectfully and courteously to other members. I think members need to mindful that children need freedom, play is a vital part of a child's development. It appears from some of the reviews that the balance was not quite right between solitude seekers and those enjoying family holidays. When seeking sites I normally seek quieter sites, either Club Sites or other independent sites as my Daughter is now older and independent so our focus is on solitude and relaxation. Maybe there is a bit more the club can do to indicate sites that are better for solitude and quiet relaxation or vice versa be clearer that a site is more family oriented. To be fair the logos on the caravan club site do indicate there is a play area, paddling pool and baby changing facilities so is fairly clear that it is a family orientated site. In high season I would read that as very busy with children on summer holidays enjoying freedom and children developing via play and rich learning experiences.
