Week in Looe

The location of this site is excellent! It is clean and has lovely views.  The staff are helpful and friendly and the pitch we had was great.  The downside was that it was incredibly noisy late into the night with kids screaming and running past our caravan until 11pm at night.  The music in the toilet block was far too loud and unnecessary.  In spite of the noise we will go back.

2 weeks

Ideal site for families due to the pool, tennis and golf and also an area for kids to play football. There is a good size dog walk shame some people don't clean up after there dogs. Tiolets and showers always clean. The only thing would say is the pitches do seem very close together. And no fault of the wardens the site came alive around 9.30 pm every night and people walking across peoples pitches. Overall a nice site.

Enjoyable stay in Cornwall

We spent 2 weeks at the Looe site in August, knowing it would be full of children, and it was! They did tend to run round or skate/cycle in noisy groups and at times beyond 10pm (but that's down to the parents to control their children whereabouts, not the children?), but I'd rather see them do that than sit playing an electronic device. The toilet facilities in the bottom block were very clean, I didn't once have to wait for a shower and I particularly liked the radio playing in the background - is this a new initiative? The pool is a bonus and warm too, but would have been better if it stayed open a bit later as we often got back around 6pm, but I understand the wardens need time off too. The crazy golf was a good laugh and all the wardens were friendly and polite. My biggest issue was the usual speed of vehicles round the site, especially during the summer holidays when you know there will be children around.  Also was quite surprised at how early new arrivals turned up - one was at 09.30?  It does state clearly in the book to arrive after 13:00

Fun, can be noisy

We have had 6 nights on a serviced pitch which is next to the playground. We have 2 children so do not mind noise. However, it is a few parents of older children/teenagersthat have allowed their children to run around and shout after dark. A sign or note in the brochure asking for quite after dark could help or parents just take better responsibility please! The area is great, swimming pool, tennis courts a real bonus.

Noise

Not a site I would come to again. Noise is a big issue, site owned vehicles constantly going by, and by no means are they quite. I have 2 grandchildren here, so am not against children in anyway, but at 9.30pm when a gang of 8/10 year olds are running around caravans spraying with water pistols, screaming shouting etc is no joke. One couple with 2 young children have just left early fed up with the late night noise. I think that says it all. Never had this problem before

Great site but dussapointed by staff attitude

Arrived for a 5 night stay went there as friends from up country had booked so a chance to meet with friends, on arrival I can only describe I was spoken to as if being interrogated by a member of staff about whether my vw transporter had been conversion I say interrogated because I had to give the answer 3 times as if I was lying, I'm sorry but not everyone with a young family can afford a massive plush motor home or caravan, shortly after setting up which took about An hour I was approached by a warden who told me I'd have to move my entire set up 6 feet despite following instructions from the interrogator on arrival then said warden went and got back up from another warden who again chose to I interfere without offering a solid recommendation as to where I should be pitched, and finally again on another day the first warden came back and commented that I'm not allowed to plug in two powerleads to which I replied if you'd like to check I have only one lead plugged in! All in all as a new member I feel bitterly dissapointed by the sheer snobbery of the staff and it did leave a rather sour taste to my caravan club experience, shame as the site facillities and location are great. This is the second time I have joined the club the first being some years ago and I remember then feeling that campervans are not made to feel welcome, however I'm now camping again nr st mawes and at this site I'm pleased to say I havnt witnessed any of the above but will seriously consider renewing membership next yr.

Caravanner from Leeds

site was lovely, but not sure who on earth thought of putting the premium service pitches right next to the basketball court and play area. The noise starts at 0900 and finishes when its gets dark if your lucky.   We would go back no problems but would not go on a premium service pitch again.  Don't get me wrong we have a young child who used the soft play area, ITS JUST IN THE WRONG PLACE!!!!!! Caravan Club - you need to do something about this, everyone was complaining!!!!!!

Never again

We had booked three nights here but left after two. We had a super pitch and it was right in front of the children's play area. The noise was unbearable with kids playing football and skateboarding in front of the van. We couldn't sit out and eat for fear of a football hitting the table. The site was miles from anywhere in the middle of nowhere. The nearest supermarket was about Seven miles away and not a pub in site so no pub grub to enjoy. Having said all that the toilet and shower block was spotless. The wi fi was all but useless. We won't be back.
