Good for families

Great site for families and oldies

This is a really good site for families and oldies. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They are very capable but not in the least bossy! The site is big but so well planned and managed that it does not feel crowded even when busy. We are active retired. We were looking for a quiet few days with books, boots and bikes. The weather was uncertain and it was the first week of the school holidays, so naturally there were young children enjoying themselves (dedicated play area) and riding around on little bikes. It was delightful and we stayed a week. The walks from the site are lovely. The only drive we took was to Frome, calling at the community pub the other side of the main road from the site, for really good food. Also walked to the "Royal Oak", which was fine for us, and to the "Horse and Groom" which was brilliant, with an amazing menu - don't miss it. Day out at the safari park was fun, using their bus to save our vehicle from the monkies! Big rigs will have to be patient on the narrow site approach roads, but we had no problem with our 7m motorhome. A great holiday!
