Good for families

Creepy crawlies and covid rule breakers.

We were impressed with the spacious pitches at this site but not so impressed with the oak trees that overhang most of them. These are infested with small black creepy caterpillar creatures that constantly drop to the ground. We were told by a regular visitor that this is normal but some of these things can be a danger to humans and animals. We just made sure we had hats on at all times but not nice. Not sure what can be done to get rid of them. Maybe high access spraying at the start of the season. We were also not impressed to find that many visitors ignored the covid 19 toilet block rules and marched in and out whether the hooks had bands on or not. It seems the wardens had said it was ok to use the toilets if just the showers were in use? Made the whole exercise pointless. When politely asked where their bands were, some were quite abusive. The site roads are a bit of a racetrack for the kids on bikes as can be expected but one young lady on an electric scooter was going well over the site speed limit and you couldn't hear her coming. The club may need to consider banning those things. A lovely country location and some great local pubs but this is a site for younger families. Probably most would go for the shorter stays with not much else locally apart from the safari park and Longleat house. Not one we would go back to having been once.
