Sat Nav Issue

It's a family site...don't expect peace and quiet...the location means it will cost more per night..should be expected. Just myself and wife stayed for 5 nights...great site...showers fine...don't expect a lie in being so close to Safari Park. Major Major drawback...affected several fellow caravanners was the Post Code supplied by CC....takes you round in circles..damaged my van trying to get there. The Warden said the post code represents the middle of the Longleat Estate ! As such whichever direction you arrive from it tries to take you there. BE WARNED...very narrow lanes with no turning/passing area's...far better and easier to put in the Post Code for Longleat Safari Park in and follow the brown signs for CC Site. Good base for visiting Glastonbury, Wells and Bath.

Lord Bath gives value for money

We have used this site several times now. It is consistently our favourite CC site.  The environment is well laid out and the facilities very good. The real benefit of this destination is its very close proximity to Longleat park and house. We took advantage of the excellent CC only offer of a five day pass. Working out at around £8 per day it is the bargain of the century.  Regarding the site we stayed in peak summer season so it's full of families with young children and I bet they had a great time but it means it's busy, noisy and you need to be on your toes driving around due to the high concentration of bikes, scooters and small children. This site suffers that common CC affliction of low pressure tepid showers otherwise I would have given it top marks!

Excellent stay

We have just returned from a 4 night stay here. The site is lovely and quiet, with friendly staff and clean facilities. Lots of local walks / cycle routes and of course Longleat on the doorstep. The site is quite pricey in comparison to most CC sites but I suppose you are paying for prime location. Overall a great stay with the family.

Longleat

We have just returned from a lovely family break at longleat site. Location great, site great, 5 day longleat Safari pass great!  Noise from longleat service team trucks and tractors, NOT SO GREAT ! Starts at approx 6am in the morning and due to otherwise peaceful location, the noise from the tractors etc is very very loud! Such a shame when you have gone on holiday to rest and try to get a welcome lay in.

Great site poor pricing

This is a great site not just for Longleat itself but for other surrounding places - don't forget to pre-book for L/leat to get a good discount. Great staff and amenities. Here comes the BUT -  pricing, it is overpriced when you compare it with commercial sites and they are looking to make a profit. One more small moan, as a motorhomer using the m/home service point, why do the CC insist on putting a solid grate over the gray water drain which is very awkward to operate - a grill would be much easier - I'm guessing that there is a "U" bend in the pipe to prevent smells already installed. Come on Club, great sites and staff sort out the rest.

Nice site

In short, I would concur with the many superlative comments made about the site. All I would say is that at dusk, sitting outside, you can definately hear the lions roar and of course, the seals! We had a nice week helped in no small way by the 5 day pass to Longleat and the discount vouchers.

Lovely site

We stayed at this site 3 nights and were sad to leave, Longleat is fantastic and we spent a great 2 days in the park with the kids. The site itself is immaculate including all the showers, toilets etc, very helpful staff and we did hear the Lions and the seal Lions at night which the kids loved. We will definitely be back

Amazing

Second visit to this site and once again we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We could hear the sealions from our pitch which was great. Showers and toilets were lovely and clean. Nice play areas on site. Friendly wardens. Chip van which visits 3 times per week serves beautiful food. We will definitely visit this site again!

Fantastic site

Have just returned from a 4 night break at this site and have to say we were really pleased with the cleanliness and standards at this site. The location for the safari park and Longleat House is superb. We purchased a 2 day pass with the caravan club discount and felt it was well worth it. The pitches are a good size and seemed fairly level, the facilities were clean and maintained, I loved the herb pots at reception where you could help yourself to a sprig or two. Nice touches like that make a big difference. We will definitely return.

great stay

First time I had driven our motorhome on my own and was a bit worried about tales of narrow roads leading to the site but it was fine. Third visit for me but first time for my daughter and twin grandchildren and they loved it. They are two and half and there was loads of things for them to do and when naps are needed it's only a short walk back to the van. The site is lovely, well cared for flowers around reception as well as various herbs that you can help yourself to when cooking which is a great idea. Shower block was clean, water pressure a bit low but no problem. As for children making a noise in the evening, it's longleat!. The site is full of children but they where no trouble. It was good to see children out on bikes or running around having a good time instead of in front of the tv. To sum up, great site, great time was had. Will be going back, just wished it took tents.
