Travellers!

We've been coming here annually and what was our favourite get is now off limits in future due to the large amount of travellers on the site. Last year there were a few but this year there are many and they have lots of kids who are obviously not at school. We go away during term time to avoid all the children but now there is no respite. Add to that that these people clearly abuse the site and intimidate genuine members into moving pitch so that more of them can come in, I dare say all sharing one barrier pass as we have been asked twice to let them out!

Comment from the Club

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your recent stay. There have been some families from the travelling community staying at the site recently, all of whom are members of the Club. These members have now moved on, but we can confirm that having spoken to the site staff all the families were respectful and abiding by the Club’s rules and guidelines. Please be assured that if there is ever any activity on a Club Site that is against the Club’s Site rules, or that causes issues for our other members and guests, we will follow this up with appropriate action. If you ever have any concerns please do not hesitate to talk to the site staff as they will always do their utmost to assist. We hope this helps to reassure you and that you will come back to stay on the site again in the future.

Pretty easily. We have a traveller site about 10 miles away. There are/were a few small businesses run from the site using the same land line number. No doubt could be used as an address also. Folk travel full time and provide an address

With the what seems increasing problems with the travelling community gaining access to sites ,at FM the problem has now got so bad that there is no longer LNA and an add barrier installed prior to site access, with a call phone to identify yourself before access can be obtained,

That’s a bit extreme over one incident on one site!

I think you will find it has happened before we stayed at Pembery park few years ago and travellers were camped just across the road from the site and extra wardens were drafted in to man the gates and everyone checked on entry to the site. We were informed the last time they had got on to the site they had problems getting them to leave

While we were at Northbrook Farm, a traveller family arrived complete with a transit van, pick up and car. The only thing that made us uncomfortable was the fact the kids and dogs were everywhere, nobody's pitch was out of bounds, and any tree could be a toilet stop, and some days the whole extended family turned up to visit, more kids and more dogs.
