The End of Winter
Just got back from the Littlehampton site where we spent 5 days in sunshine (that's the big yellow ball thing in the sky which gets hot).
Site very good indeed and we were able to be pitched close to the disabled facilities and on a grass pitch too. Grass pitch very important as it is much easier to move a wheelchair over grass than over loose gravel.
The site location is within reasonable walking distance of the towns shops and the harbour walk and there are plenty of small cafes and drinks places in the town and along the harbour walk. From a wheelchair viewpoint there are some difficulties on the walk into town due to the steep inclines from the pavement to the road at each road junction. We found the towns people very patient and helpful when we were trying to negotiate these inclines. The staff at the Club site provided me with the contact details for Littlehampton Town Council and I forwarded an E mail to them pointing out the difficulties we had at each road junction. I was surprised when I received an E mail back telling me that my concerns had been taken seriously and had been passed to the West Sussex Highways Authority for their comments. We enjoyed our visit to the site and were made to feel welcome by all the staff we met.
