Severly dissappointed in the site but love the area

We love the area and having stayed at this site many times over the years I was looking forward to a bank holiday getaway at a site we were familiar with and have enjoyed in the past. All started well but then we began to see how things have deteriorated since our last stay. The first morning I went for a shower to find that someone had poo'd on the shower floor! I went to reception and reported it, at which point the warden i spoke to said 'don't worry we are used to it.' So, what i thought must be an isolated incident obviously isn't!!! The cleanliness of the toilets over the weekend varied with many occasions both the male and femaile toilets were in a real state. On one occasion 4 of the cubicles in the male block were blocked up and in a non sanitary condition. I appreciate it was extremley busy, but in the last 7 years of membership and having stayed at quite a few caravan club sites i have not experienced anything like this before. There was no hot water on a number of occasions in the toilet block across the weekend, which many people were moaning about. A cold shower is not the way to start the day! Also when you need to wash-up, hot water is a must. Again this was reported to the wardens by a number of members, with no visbile effort to restore the hot water. On the Saturday night there was very loud music thumping away until gone midnight which we believe was coming from the static caravans accessed through the site which kept us awake. It was incredibly loud. The grass pitches were quite chaotic with people not observing the pitch rules and minimum spacing. Which from a fire prevention perspective we found to be quite concerning as it was very hot and everyone was BBQ'ing. It also felt very cramped. I can only assume that non-members were the one's on the grass pitches to the rear of the site and don't know the rules or did not have them explained to them by the wardens. I was also quite surpised to have been sitting by my van enjoying the sunshine and see a young child on the grass pitches opposite stand there in the open pull down his shorts and have a wee on the grass in front of everyone and no effort made by the parents to control their child. We backed on to the play area which we thought would be great for our son but some of the older kids on the site were quite abusive and unruly which on a number of occasions meant the younger children 5-7 year olds could not go in the play area as it was being used as a youth club by older children. It is a real shame that such a lovely site that we have stayed in both as a Caravan Club site and before it was purchased by the club can be so easily spoilt through poor management and lack of standards. Apart from the above we really enjoyed our stay. Littlehampton as town has had a lot of money spent on it over the last few years and with Arundel just a short journey away is a lovely part of the South Coast to visit.
