Just a standard Club site
This is just a standard flat Club site crammed with as many pitches as spacing rules will allow. No real character, few trees, just rows of vans with some hedges separating the rows.. But, as always the wardens are welcoming, friendly and a credit to our Club.
There is a lack of service points – the main one at the central washrooms block is closed with no explanation and no sign of repairs underway. The other service points are quite a long walk from many pitches. Wi-fi was unreliable – we had frequent problems logging on, but when we contacted AirAngel (the company that provide Club WiFi), they said that only some pitches on the Littlehampton site can receive good WiFi and we were in a poor signal area on pitch 27. In the handbook the site is stated to have Gold WiFi, but it should be made clear that this is only for part of the site.
We did not use the toilets or showers at all during our visit, but could see that Covid precautions are in place as in all Club sites we have visited.
There was a constant stiff cold breeze from West / South West during the 12 days we were there, even in the lovely sunny weather in June. Few people sat outside unless they could shelter from the wind – those that did had decent windbreaks.
There is not a lot to do in the area – beaches are shingle with sand only at low tide and little protection from the wind. Arundel castle and gardens are certainly worth a visit, as are the gardens at West Dean and the Weald and Downland Museum. There are numerous excellent pubs in the area – we found the best on Trip Advisor.
There is a Morrisons supermarket 5 minutes drive away. Good priced fuel there as well.
There is also a Lidl supermarket in Littlehampton.
