Mini break

Superb site in a "new" location for us. Beautifully landscaped, clean & tidy with very friendly staff. Excellent facilities. Great location for walking & cycling whatever your aspirations, Newcastleton is also very good for shops, bank, pubs, in fact everything you could need. Can't comment on suitability for families as we don't come into that category. Even though we were only 2 nights before the Easter bank holiday this was money well spent. Even the dogs were constantly entertained with the rabbits running around all over!!!

Another relaxing stay

Just had another 3 nights at Lidalia, the site is perfect and the people so nice and helpful. Loads to do with walks in the area and the scenery is magic. The village is nice and the people who live there are very friendly. You will not be disappointed staying here.

What a gem

We visited Lidalia CC Site for five nights in March and can't praise it highly enough. Ideally placed for us to enjoy our love of trail running and mountain biking, the site is about 500m from the Newcastleton 7 Stanes trailhead and entrance to the beautiful Newcastleton forest. The village of the same name is a couple of minute's walk from the site, and whilst not exactly Las Vegas, this charming village has all the amenities you need including two village stores, three pubs, an excellent butcher and a bakery with a fab cafe.  The site itself is perfectly laid out with absolutely spotless facilities, a picturesque and quiet location and the friendliest, most helpful owners you could hope to meet. The two sisters running the site were delighted to pass on information about local walks and rides or to just pass the time of day. And this friendliness was mirrored by locals with almost everyone we met smiling and saying good morning/ hi. A superbly run site in a truly delightful location, we will certainly be back.

5s All Round

Lidalia is a 5 star site in lovely Liddesdale. We stopped over Valentine's weekend. We had sun snow and temperatures well below zero but had the warmest of welcomes from the team that run the site. If you are into the great outdoors you can walk/bird watch directly from the site. Mountain bike riders are would also be in their element via the 7 stones trails. Then eat out at the 2 cafés and/or hotels in the friendly village. One note of caution is the lack of mobile signal (o2)but there is wi fi .

so friendly

Hi  We loved this site - people were so friendly both on site and in the village. Dog walking was great. Everywhere clean and tidy and site staff very helpful. Mobile phone reception (02) was very poor. Wish we lived closer to this fabulous site and not a ferry journey away. Hopefully we will get an opportunity to return some day.

what a pretty site

what a pretty site.  We stopped here for two nights on our way further north.  Very good facilities.  Lovely dog walk along the old railway track which was so convenient.  Also just a five minute walk into the village.  The river walk was lovely , our dog was in heaven, and we saw two kingfishers which was a bonus.  Would definately return.

One of the best sites ever!

Well we can't write anything but positives!  This has to be one of the best sites we have visited.  The couple who run it went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and were very friendly.  Loved the fact that in the shower facility you had an actual full bathroom with shower, basin and toilet in.  The site is immaculate and we had a standing next to the duck pond.  A lovely peaceful site.  Local pubs, shops a couple of minutes walk away.  Both local pubs were very welcoming of our dog which was a real bonus. We will definitely be visiting this site again next year.

Back again

First visit was in August this year and we have just been back for 7 very enjoyable nights, what a lovely site. The wardens are fantastic, they will help in any way they can and good for a chat. If you want to relax this is the place to go.

Beautiful Site - A Gem

We booked on the recommendation of friends, who had stayed many times. It was a good call.  The site is small and immaculate with lots of rabbits and bird life.  Part of the site is on flat, level ground whilst some is on a gentle slope and levellers may be required.  We liked the toilet block in "bathroom format" with toilet, shower and basin together.  There are also shower stools, which my wife particularly like.  The wardens are friendly and helpful. We visited The Grapes, which has excellent food and butchers is absolutely first class.  The town itself is sleepy (but we liked that) and has a strong community feel to it.  We will return. Ps. We got a TalkTalk phone signal but not O2.

great

Spent two glorious days here - could have stayed longer.  Easy walking into village for supplies and a local pub for delicious food. Site very peaceful run by extremely friendly wardens. We visited Hadrians wall and Kielder dam - both well worth the visit. Lots of walks nearby as well. Best Affiliated Site that I have been to for a long time.
