Weekend away
This was our second visit stay to this site ,the 1st being the old site /layout and it was not a nice welcome from the old wardens ,but this time all was redeemed
The wardens were spot on ,and the overall site is well maintained with its new facilities ,we tried the new bistro out and it ticked the boxes .
You can walk into Knaresborough via two routes ,( you can get a small made up leaflet from the information desk showing these routes) and this is about 1.75 miles by road which we opted for
there is also a bus service that runs along side the site to Knaresborough/Harrogate/Ripon/York ,but check the times as its not as frequent as you would like ,plus its a company called explorer which means if you buy a all day return then its only this bus company service that you can use .
but if you get to Knaresborough then there is a better bus service running every 10mins to Harrogate
Both Knaresborough and Harrogate are the main visiting points locally , but going further a field to explore is not a issue as this part of Yorkshire has plenty to keep you interested.
there is a child playground and a suitable dog walk on site and digital TV coverage is good, plus getting to the site is excellent and is well placed and doesn't take you long from the A1.
We came to this site just before new year and it was full ,but I know this is a very popular site ,so book well in advance as most summer months its does fill up quickly
Overall a good well placed and maintained site which ticks all the boxes
