On site at the moment and the first visit since the site has been upgraded. This is one of our favourite sites and we were disappointed with some of the reviews post upgrade. The old shower block has been partly revamped with new showers and tiling. The new shower block is slightly disappointing with only 2 ladies showers, toilets and privacy cubicles and I assume the same in the gents. The actual building is massive and I wonder if they could have fitted more into the space. The new pitches are great and replace the grass pitches at the top of the site. A new one way system in place but nothing too drastic. Agree the entrance could do with widening. We have a motorhome and so no problem but I can imagine that some caravans might find the entrance a bit difficult. There is space to adapt the current layout and hopefully the Club will look again at site access . And finally the Bistro. We were disappointed with the reviews posted by members who had visited the new facility. Apparently a new chef started this week. The food was lovely, the Bistro was around three quarters full and the service was excellent. The two people waiting on and working behind the bar were very professional and efficient. Going forward, the Bistro will be different to the set up some of were used to when Chris was around and I'm sure some of us will miss the old ways (particularly at Christmas and New Year), but the new set up, as we experienced this evening, is a credit to the Club.
