We had three nights here over October half term and it was a very restful place to unwind. On the approach to the site it looked welcoming and the warden was there at the barrier to meet and greet everyone as we arrived. We received a warm welcome from him as we went inside to book in and pay our fees. The site is relatively small, but this is part of the charm. We don't like lots of hussle and bustle, so this suited us well. The toilet block, while not the newest, was clean and well cared for. The jewel in the crown was the on site bistro, The Wanderer! What a fantastic venue for a drink and food! The menu was small, but perfectly put together and the meal we had was nothing short of amazing. The quality of the food and the service provided by the two young staff members was as good as any top notch establishment! 10/10 for the service guys! Geographically, the site is ideal for exploring the local beauty spots of knareborough, Harrogate and beyond. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are returning in February 2022 for another short break!!
