Lovely site

Stayed at this site for 6 nights during the last week in October 2017, this was my first time here, so not aware of how it was prior to the refurb. I’m glad I read some of the previous reviews before I went, the enterance to the site is tight, the approach road is fairly narrow so there isn’t the opportunity to swing out before turning right into the site. Towing a 21ft twin axle through the enterance, whilst not overly troublesome, the narrowness of the enterance will catch some people out. Nice, quick book in and payment was good, good job really as I can see there being a build up of vehicles on the very short enterance driveway waiting to get in. Soon found a pitch along the first row on the left near the central toilet block, and set up for the week. Lovely, level pitch, hedge to one side and grass to the other, with a hedge row behind. I think there is some sort of dirt track at the back as I was woken some mornings by vehicles and tractors driving along the muddy lane. The site is really well maintained, with grass kept short and pitches wel gravelled. Nice little dog walk and exercise area, it would be great if they could put some gravel down on the path along the hedge, quite slippery in the dark when taking the dog for his last constitution before bedtime. Great walking area, lots of footpaths along and through the Nidd Gorge, and plenty of cycle paths through lovely countryside, a great area for geocaching. TV reception great, mobile (EE) ok but hit and miss for 4G. Visited the Bistro on two nights, great that dogs are allowed in, I wouldn't have gone in if not as my dog would howl if left in the caravan. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, wine good but a little expensive. Shame no wifi in the Bistro, surely it wouldn’t be difficult to get the CC wifi connected in there? No mobile signal in the bistro due to tin roof? Overall, a lovely, fairly small site, perfect for my break. I will, most definately, return soon.
