Great little site, slightly unusually laid out for a CC site, but not in a negative way. Modern wash block was small but I never had to queue – the site was just over half full. Good for a stop over if you are touring, but warrants a few days as Ben Eighe and the Torridon mountain range are must see places in my opinion.

Walked from site to the top of Slioch and back, a gruelling 8 hour trek, but worth it as the views and waterfalls enroute were spectacular.

Had a drive out to Gairloch and Poolewe and got my bike out for a spin around some of the more remote coastal areas. Weather was fab, which of course always helps.

Kinlochewe has a shop, café, pub restaurant and petrol station, so it is not quite the back of beyond. The nearest major supermarket however is 35 miles away. Be warned the midge were a big nuisance in the mornings and evenings.

There is no wifi, the tv channels from the EHU are minimal and the Vodafone signal not brilliant. Great, if you want to get away from it all for a few days.
