At first, like the previous responder I was mystified at such a negative review for this fantastic site set in a stunning location. Then I saw the "as usual for this club" comment and it became a little clearer. As is usual with this club, no pitches are allocated prior to arrival so the early bird gets the worm so to speak. Obviously I have no knowledge of your individual situation but I have seen plenty of arrivals over the years where people arrive late and bemoan the fact that all the decent pitches have been taken. There are a number of ways to remedy this. Get there earlier would be the main one- I know the M6 can be a pain in the proverbial. We have a 350 mile journey and leave at 5 am to get there for midday- 1pm. Returning to the "as usual with this club" comment- you've obviously experienced a similar issue before at other sites so maybe the fault doesn't necessarily lie with "the club" or it's excellent, extremely hard working wardens? Maybe consider not using club sites in the future? If I had a bad meal in a restaurant I wouldn't keep going back. Just a thought. Leave it with you.

And the comment about tracks going every which way. Does it not state on the site description that it's a site in National Trust Woodland? Should they put in a nice wide dual carriageway to navigate the site??
Next there'll be an expectation for a drive through McDonald's or a the very least a Costa/Starbucks at club sites! Give me strength!!!! This is caravanning. If you want luxury- go to an hotel.

" If I had a bad meal in a restaurant I wouldn't keep going back. Just a thought. Leave it with you."
Ozz1, that sounds rather sarcastic given that the OP had already made the decision not to go back.
Opinions are subjective. I've just returned from a cruise and next to me in the dining room one night a man was complaining profusely that the custard was to runny. I said to him that I like my custard runny. He made no further comment.

I guess the office only really know when a pitch is occupied when that new arrival comes back to say where they have pitched. With several newly arrived folk out there looking for vacant pitches chances are one indicated as a possibility at the office may have just been chosen.
When a site is almost full, it's almost full apart from that one pitch everyone has passed over in this instance. I really don't see what can be done to elliviate this for anyone turning up late, just a fact of 'life'!
