Absolutely wonderful site, set in National Trust woodlands with the ruins of an old gunpowder factory on site. We loved the seclusion of the small groups of pitches nestled between the trees away from other groups. Surrounded by bird song. It did not feel like we were on a large caravan site. Location perfect, right by the beautiful River Kent with a beautiful wooded circular walk round it, with lots of bird life. This is the nicest site we have ever stayed on. We were sorry we had booked only one night as we were travelling north so had only an afternoon to enjoy the lovely area and couldn't do any more. There is plenty to do from the site without exploring the rest of the Lakes. Wonderfully friendly helpful staff on reception. They could not have been nicer or more informative.
