What has happened to this gorgeous site?
Kendal caravan club site was the first sight I ever visited when I joined the caravan club. Back then it was called Low Park Wood. I have always rated Kendal site as being my flagship site to visit. I would thoroughly recommend this site to anybody for the unique layout of the pitches, the overall tranquillity of the site and the fact that you have lovely local towns to visit nearby if you so wish. Unfortunately my latest visit to the site left me feeling rather disappointed with the overall general appearance of the area. When I have stayed at the site before in the autumn there were regular walkabouts by the wardens using leaf blowers to clear the paths and roads and they were continually ensuring that the water and waste disposal areas were cleaned clear of leaves and generally kept tidy. Alas this was not the case during my recent visit in October. Speaking to other caravan owners on the site they also agreed with me that the overall general appearance of the site had decreased somewhat. I was there for five days and at no point did I see anybody using a leaf blower to clear the roads. I found three different waste and water areas all blocked full of leaves, including the toilet waste disposal. I fully appreciate that this site is in the middle of a forest and you will undoubtedly get more leaves than you would normally, however I have been coming to the site for many years and have never once experienced this at Kendal. It was almost as if the Wardens had a “couldn’t be bothered” attitude. I sincerely hope that at the start of the new season in 2019 we see an improvement on the site as it is such a lovely environment.
