What a lovely site!
This site has to be one of our favourites. Similar to Coniston Coppice which we love. The setting is wonderful, walks are a delight. Loved the farm shop and watched the cows being milked. The smell is quite hummmm, might not be to anyone's taste.
One downside for us was the ground on our pitch was so hard, our diamond hard pegs would hardly go in. We had hard pitches in the past but this one must have been the worst. We purchased a heavy robust mallet in Kendal and it did a better job. Not sure what people use in cases like these.
The single track road is a bit of a challenge but if you don't arrive before time and clash with the departures, it's not a problem. The way out is very tight and very close to the river. Let's say we wouldn't do it at night with a big moho.
We hired a car from Enterprise for a day to tour all the lakes. Had to get a taxi to Kendal to collect it as they don't deliver to the site or collect at the moment due to Covid.
A hugely enjoyable stay, great wardens too, highly recommended
