Unique woodland site with pitches in glades
This is a lovely site based around the ruins of the Sedgwick Gunpowder works. The works remains themselves are of interest to anyone interested in industrial history. Walks are available by the river and in the woods behind the site.
The pitches are set in groups in woodland glades, some more open and some shaded. It is wise to consider this when pitching. Most complaints I've heard are from people who don't like the shadier spots. It isn't an ideal kids' site, though there is a play area. There isn't much else for kids to do and the potentially hazardous river is nearby. The only reason I haven't given facilities five stars is because the wash up water isn't hot enough for effective washing up.
