The most beautiful site anywhere, PROVIDED you like woodland.
This lovely site is based around the historic ruins of the New Sedgwick Gunpowder works. It comprises a series of woodland glades on a hillside above the river Kent. You can rarely see more than about five other outfits. As others have said the approach is narrow and some pitches require above average manouvering skills but there are also plenty of straightforward ones, including a large flat area if you have a really large outfit. The site was unusually quiet last week giving plenty of choice of pitch.
It is heavily wooded with lots of undergrowth and the birds, hedgehogs, rabbits, etc that this environment encourages.
The facilities are immaculately clean and well maintained, and the wardens this year are some of the most friendly and helpful I've met in my many years of using Low Park Wood, (Kendal).
