Surprisingly beautiful
We hadn't appreciated how pretty this site would be. Located in the grounds of an old gunpowder mill, the pitches are scattered in small glade-like areas surrounded by woodland full of bluebells and wild garlic. Bordered by the Kent River, paths lead all the way into nearby Kendal. The town itself is also easily reached by bike along roads (safely on the pavement where its busy).
Nearby Sizegh Castle and Low Barn Farm shop are walkable distances away. The Lakes National Park is on the doorstep and makes for a great day trip.
Staff at the site are friendly and helpful and the wash rooms were spotlessly clean.
