Good for families

Stopover, once and once only.

The toilet block was new, best yet. The staff were very helpful. Access was narrow but arriving late afternoon and leaving early meant we had no problems. The site is however not pretty on the eye. It is totally overgrown and beyond the capabilities of a few wardens to clear or maintain. It looked more like a ‘travellers camp’ than a CAMC site. I would not have stayed any longer than one night and won’t be returning. The whole place felt too claustrophobic.

Totally disagree with your review.  The site is full of lovely little alcoves, and you can either choose to be with other CAMC members in small areas or have your own space.  The wardens work tirelessly to keep the site clean and tidy and do an excellent job throughout the season, we visit regularly and see the hard work and hours they put in.  The wildlife on site is spectacular, we've regularly seen roe deer.  There are many excellent walks in the local area and you are only a mile from a pub serving fantastic food and great beers.

The site isn’t my cup of tea but I’d not say it was overgrown. The pitching areas are bays in natural woodland setting and it's unrealistic to expect manicured lawns and flower beds. It’s pretty much as nature intended.
