This is one of our favourite CC sites. We spent two days here last week taking our little Topaz out for its final run before we get our new van next week. Our pitch was in one of the areas at the back with direct access to a footpath through the woods.  The coppicing that has taken place has made it lighter without spoiling the overall feel of being in the middle of the wood. Lots of walks from here, across the river and along the bank, or along the path on the near side of the river at the far end of the site until you reach the 'private' sign; wardens told us we could still go through the gate and continue if wished. The best walk we had was along the path at the corner of our area, up the hill and through the clearing with wild flowers, out of the woods and left through the field to the farm shop.  You can return via the farm walk, past the hens and round edge of fields to come out near the site entrance.
