Nice site, just a few drawbacks

This is a lovely site, with pitches scattered in woodland clearings.  It is convenient for Sizergh Castle, the excellent Strickland Arms, Kendal and the southern lakes. On the whole it was very peaceful, the low score for peace and quiet is because of a number of yapping dogs and the way the wardens got the strimmer and leaf blower out every time the sun shone. My only other reservations are that, from most pitches, it is a very long walk to the (superbly clean) toilet blocks (also a bit short of WC provision in the gents in block A); the surface of the access road is very poor and threatens to throw everything out of the lockers; and finally, it is plagued by sets of staggered speed bumps - we had to drive over 5 sets to leave the site, at least 2 of them triggering the ATC and, on one occasion, stalling my 180BHP diesel engine even though I was proceeding VERY slowly.
