New to Kendal

We had not been to Kendal before and used it as a stop over on our way south and on our way back north. If you like trees and being in among trees this is the site for you. It is a very quiet site but on our return visit, it was school holidays so lots of kids around. Some of the roads round the site are quite narrow and steep and you need to be aware of children on bikes racing downhill  - against the one way system,  at all times. The toilet blocks are lovelyand clean and well maintained by the wardens.  Depending on your pitch, not much sun filters through so it can be quite dark especially in late autumn.  At night in the dark it is easy to get lost  in the warren of paths as we found out.  Pitch size varies and the second  pitch we had was small and we felt quite enclosed. There are good dog walks in and around the site and a  local farm shop is close by with local produce. Easily accessable from the M6.
