Mixed weather in Kendal
Just returned from visiting this wonderful site & area. We've not been to 'The Lakes' for many years and just wished we could have stayed a while longer. Yes, the access lane is narrow in places, but there are plenty of passing places and if travelling at walking place, is not an issue.
Ours is a fairly large unit ( caravan) and some of the roadways within the site itself are narrow and some corners a bit on the tight side. I would say, of all the club sites we've visited, these are the tightest. (and I'm an ex HGV driver)
Early May meant that the trees were not fully leaved, so the site was bright and pleasant for our stay. We like the woodland, especially the dawn chorus ( before dawn!!)
Due to COVID we didn't use the facilities, we've now got used to using the onboard ones and maybe won't ever go back - who knows?
The proximity to the M6 is excellent for access and also makes it it a handy stopover, although 1 night would be such a waste!
Highly recommended, the river runs next to the site which is delightful. After a long walk, we had a picnic on the banks and watched people swimming in it. We can't wait to return asap.
