This site had everything we look for - peaceful, a beautiful setting, with easy access to walks and pubs. We booked a non-awning pitch and found one with just one pitch beside it which was unoccupied the whole time we were there so it felt like we had our own private pitch surrounded by trees, just up from the river. It's a leisurely walk to the Strickland Arms for good beer and food and it's easy to walk alongside the river into Kendal for a wider selection of pubs. Didn't have any problem with the access road at all.
