We added three nights at Kendal on our way to Skye as we were able to get away earlier than planned. What a fantastic find! The warden at reception told us where the best pitches were for access to the walks through the woods as we had our dog with us. So we set off through the trees to find one of the many secluded areas that have pitches. We pitched and attached the dog tether and then wondered why our Husky was sitting amongst the wild garlic – it turns out that she was sitting in the midst of a rabbit warren waiting for one to come out! We loved everything about this site, it has history, nature, a good farm shop (Low Sizergh Barn) and dog friendly foodie pub (The Strickland Arms) within walking distance. Excellent!
