Set in National Trust woodland, Kendal Club Campsite is so peaceful you'll not want to leave. From the country lane approach running beside a tumbling river, to the glades where you can pitch amidst the wild flowers, this caravan park is a small slice of heaven. Some will be interested to know that Kendal Club Campsite is on the site of a 19th-century gunpowder mill.
Kendal Club Campsite lets you enjoy nature to the full, from the swoop of the fells to the luxurious blue of the lakes. There are several scenic walks to be had and don't forget to bring along your binoculars because the bird life is varied and colourful. If you're a wild flower enthusiast you won't be disappointed as you'll see a range of marvellous blooms on display, not least wild orchids. For those who enjoy the sport of fishing, the campsite also features a river that is popular amongst anglers (with a National River Licence). When you fancy a bite to eat, the nearby market town of Kendal is famous for its mint cake and trusted for its hearty meals. Nearby facilities including a farm shop, supermarket and cafe, enable you to conveniently stock up on supplies for your holiday.
The site is a great base from which to explore the delights of Cumbria and the Lake District, with Windermere just 13 miles from the site and Keswick a further 20 miles beyond. It also makes an ideal stopover point for onward travel towards Scotland.

As per most other comments staff friendly, helpful etc.... Site has a beautiful location (in dense forest). Facilities a bit ageing but warm, clean and tidy. However, with a big motorhome and no other form of transport available then this site is too isolated for me. A miles walk to the nearest pub, along... Show more

Great staff and location. Ideal for travellers from the South as a stopover en route to Scotland. Unfortunately a great deal of pitches are not very flat and levelling a Motorhome (in two directions) is very challenging. Not so bad for caravan’s though. The gravel on some pitches is too... The wardens are AMAZING!!!! they work extremely hard to keep on top of the site which I'm sure isn't easy with all those trees. From when you arrive to leaving you will have a great time. Walks or bike rides to seizer Castle, Levens hall, brigsteer, lots to explore.

This is a lovely campsite with a wide selection of pitches, with lots of different ‘vibes’. The facilities are great - clean, working, etc - can’t ask for more. The staff were super friendly and helpful too. We extended our stay - twice!
