Set in National Trust woodland, Kendal Club Campsite is so peaceful you'll not want to leave. From the country lane approach running beside a tumbling river, to the glades where you can pitch amidst the wild flowers, this caravan park is a small slice of heaven. Some will be interested to know that Kendal Club Campsite is on the site of a 19th-century gunpowder mill.
Kendal Club Campsite lets you enjoy nature to the full, from the swoop of the fells to the luxurious blue of the lakes. There are several scenic walks to be had and don't forget to bring along your binoculars because the bird life is varied and colourful. If you're a wild flower enthusiast you won't be disappointed as you'll see a range of marvellous blooms on display, not least wild orchids. For those who enjoy the sport of fishing, the campsite also features a river that is popular amongst anglers (with a National River Licence). When you fancy a bite to eat, the nearby market town of Kendal is famous for its mint cake and trusted for its hearty meals. Nearby facilities including a farm shop, supermarket and cafe, enable you to conveniently stock up on supplies for your holiday.
The site is a great base from which to explore the delights of Cumbria and the Lake District, with Windermere just 13 miles from the site and Keswick a further 20 miles beyond. It also makes an ideal stopover point for onward travel towards Scotland.
