Fantastic introduction to Club sites

This was our first ever stay at a club site and we were not disappointed. I was aware that this was a "marmite" site but fortunately we love marmite. We had no problems accessing the site in our 8ft wide 8.2m long caravan down the narrow lane, in fact we didn't find it particularly narrow at all, yes there are some pot holes but they are fairly simple to either avoid or just go over slowly. We were very warmly welcomed by very friendly and helpful wardens and because of the size of our outfit a suitable pitch was allocated to us. We were very happy with our spacious pitch, we love the way the site is laid out because it makes it feel like it is much smaller. We were very fortunate to have lovely neighbours for the whole two weeks we were there. The facilities nearest to us were spotlessly clean and in great condition. Unfortunately the playground was closed but the children amused themselves cycling round the site and playing in the river. The only criticism is that the reception had no shop, the only products for sale were toilet fluid and some very useful printed maps of walks from the site. The location is great for exploring but just bear in mind that it is pretty much a minimum of an hour to get to any of the main Lake District locations apart from Windermere which is about half an hour but very busy when we went. All in all we loved our stay and will happily go back.
