Lovely spot but wi fi diabolical in this day and age. Whilst the guy on the phone tried many options to get me connected, this only worked if I walked to reception, got connected there but by the time I had walked back to my van soon lost connection. Obviously one of the reason given was there was a lot of people using the wi fi.However in the 21st century with much improved technology this should not be an issue. Needs addressing/sorting, more sustainable equipment required.
Overall enjoyed our short stay.
Beautiful spot in the woods
We’re touring the UK and decided to stop off for two weeks at Kendal. The staff were extremely friendly and very chilled out. The site is a gorgeous higgledy piggledy mix of pitches, some surrounded by woodland flowers and at the upper part of the site you’re nestled in the woods. The most beautiful river runs through the site and you will be spoilt for choice with dog walks.
A farm shop is just a hop, skip and jump from the site, which is handy as the selection of groceries on site can only be purchased with cash.
The only little niggle is the noise from the nearby main road, but you soon zone that out after a few days.
You’ll get an excellent WiFi signal with EE.
First Visit to Kendal Club Site.
First visit to kendal club site in September 21.
this site was easy to find was just off motorway J36 of m6 .
loverly reception greetings from warden's not your usual club site set on the grounds of an old gunpowder mill,
there is a river that runs down one side of the site.
toilet facilities are very clean.
TV & WiFi very poor reception , pitches mostly hard standing surround by trees in little alcoves .
plenty of dog walks round site, this is a big site easy to get lost.
will return next year really enjoyed this site.

Secluded Pitches
First stay here. Pitches not in rows but in little enclaves scattered amongst the trees. Really liked this. Very easy to access the Lakes or the peninsula - as just off major routes close by. Farm shop with restaurant close by - really nice food including cooked breakfasts. Facilities very clean.
Motorhome weekend away
Lovely site and location with plenty of walks around the site
Lovely walk to Sizergh Castle and pub lunch in the Strickland Arms was delicious .
We will definitely return
Great Location poor facilities
This is a great site , one of my favourites. the walks from site are splendid. Sizergh castle and Levens Hall are within walking distance and are spectacular places to visit. Walks around the site and river are attractive. Ask the Warden for an information sheet on the Gunpowder works, ruins of which cover the site; fascinating. The only downsides are the lack of a shop on site; The internet access is abysmal and don't expect the plug in TV to work further up the site. This includes all the serviced pitches. You may think you have paid for this facility but you will be told in no uncertain terms that you have not, so hard luck. Dogs off leads and barking are a common problem, never addressed. Yes the approach road is dreadful but you're missing a treat if you let that put you off.

Dark
Sorry if repeating what others have said. It’s a pretty site, very rural but not far from M6. Because it’s set in beautiful ancient NT woods it is dark, that said if you walk along the river to Kendal you’re soon out of the woods and in open countryside, it’s a lovely walk but it is over 3 miles each way. The farm shop and cafe is close by and looked lovely but didn’t use, same for the pub. If you’re like us, in a motorhome, it’s bit remote, no bus service, 2 nights was enough.
Kendal Visit
26th - 30th September-
The site facilities are very good indeed. The individual pitches in small size areas are a great idea. We really enjoyed our visit even though it was the worst weather I’ve experienced in the Lake District ever!!
A couple of niggles though.
1. The road off the main highway is a single track with passing places. But the closer to get to the site the narrower and more pothole filled the road becomes. Unseasoned towers should proceed with care.
2. Many of the pitches are very uneven so remember to take your levelling ramps with you
Other than these 2 issues you will enjoy your stay at this site!
Lovely
Oh please... get over the access road... not a problem and no worse than some roads in East Sussex!!!! Really friendly welcome, pitch allocated which after Coniston was nice. Lovely peaceful site with immaculate facilities. Have a walk along the river to the rapids..stunning. Strickland Arms lovely food and make a point of being at the lovely local farm shop to watch the cows being milked.
Seriously- stop moaning about things outside the site like the access road - we have a large moho- and enjoy the peace and quiet of this site.
p.s. weather rubbish.
Great woodland site
Very warm welcome upon arrival and a very comprehensive information sheet. Yes there are potholes on the approach road but no issue avoiding them in our motorhome and I gather there may be measures to sort them out soon anyway. Facilities very clean and in good condition. Site is on many levels with privacy from mature woodlands which was fine for us and added character but may be a struggle for others with any mobility issues.
We did have an issue with the TV booster outlets not working on the pitch we chose (The lakeland Heights pitches) however the antenna on our van worked fine so not an issue (reported to the site staff at the time).
Would stay again.
