Easter 2015

Wardens helpful and cheerful. Don't put be put off by tow in, it's not that bad. The site is pretty and has a lot of separate little caravan pitch areas. Lots of trees, no problem at this time of the year but could be very dark in the summer. The traffic calming measures and lay out of site ensures that cars cannot go fast around the site which is good because we have seen this on other club sites. However I do have to question why can the wardens on their golf buggies be allowed to tear around the roads and what's more go the wrong way around the road system? I just hope no child totters out in front of them.

Our favourite caravan club site

My family & I have visited this site many times within the last 5 years. For us it is perfect; lots of wildlife & birds on your doorstep, lovely walks from the site, a river with paddling area for the kids to fish with their nets, Pub, Farm shop & Tea Rooms a short walk away, 10 Min drive into Kendal city centre for shops, restaurants, etc. Something for everyone!  The site wardens have always been very accommodating & friendly, more so on this occasion where we had booked a pitch without awning, without realising, which is a disaster for us, as we have a small child with push chairs, etc and a large boxer dog to house. The wardens, tape measures at the ready, were marvellous and went out of their way to help us find a pitch that would allow us the luxury of our much needed awning.  The showers & toilets are immaculate and the site is well kept. The office will take your daily newspaper order, a must for a well deserved sit down and glass of wine. All in all highly recommended, we used to come here before the little one came along and enjoyed it just as much as a couple as we do a family.

Alone but not lonely

This was the first time that I have stayed on a club site on my own and I was a bit nervous about it. I soon discovered that my fears were unfounded. On arrival, the wardens were friendly and helpful and suggested a couple of pitches where I would not be isolated and would be close to the loo block. I chose my pitch and almost as soon as I pulled up a fellow camper came over to help me pull onto my pitch and while I was pulling my awning into the rail, someone else arrived to give me a hand. Throughout the week, people stopped and chatted. The site itself is a delight. Wild daffodils were in profusion. A woodpecker was hammering away at a nearby tree and I just loved the woodland atmosphere. I walked into Kendal using a route supplied by the wardens which went alongside the River Kent. They had produced it because they were asked how to walk into the town. Local buses can be reached from the site, although it is a bit of a hike as is the very popular Strickland Arms, but well worth it. My only reservation is that the dish-washing area is outside and very chilly. That is a minor gripe compared to everything else and I certainly hope to return. Many thanks to the wardens for their friendly help.

First Kendal visit.

We picked Kendal to spend our Easter holidays. The site itself is well kept with friendly, helpful staff. Toilet/Showers were immaculate at all times of day.  We found it helpful to have a section for twin axels. The site is also well situated for visiting the lakes and surrounding area. Fully recommend if you wish to visit Cumbria. Children's play park on the small side, but other than that a brilliant site.

1st Time at Kendal

We used to have a static caravan at Skelwith Fold near Ambleside and we stayed there approx. 30 times a season for almost 10 years,so we know that part of the Lakes very well. This was our 1st stay in Kendal and we are pleased that we chose this site. The park is quite a size and well spaced out,we liked the little secluded areas which the more you explore the more you come accross. We visited 29th March to April 1st and we got the equivalent of a months rainfall in four days, but that's the Lakes for you. As usual the site facilities were spot on and the staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the lady from Whitley Bay,welldone to you ! The site will be a fantastic place to visit when the trees are in leaf, especially near to autumn, when we will probably re visit. Great walks from the site and loads of places to visit by car. Kendal is a good sized town with plenty of pubs and a good selection of shops. The Lakes are a very special place which we never tire of visiting, we are looking forward to a return visit to Kendal

First time in the Lakes

This was our first outing with a caravan in the Lakes. The site was really nice with lots of choice of either private or close to other caravans. Great farm shop/cafe 20mins walk or 5 mins drive. Make sure you arrive after 12 and leave before 12 especially during busy times as road is narrow, but stick to this advice and you won't have a problem. Not all pitches are flat so take extra blocks in case. Nice that you can drive around the site and choose the pitch you want.  We will definitely go again in the summer.  Great site.

Back again

Having been to LPW many many times before, this was the first time I've been so early in the season. The whole site seems so different with no leaves on the trees. There has been a lot of work carried out during the closed season and the site is ready for yet another busy year. The wardens-as always-made for a warm welcome, trying and succeeding to accommodate my needs-a big thanks to them. The 2 toilet block were spotless and warm in this cold weather. All I can say is that i'm looking forward to my return at the end of April

WELCOME RETURN

We first visited this site last year and could not wait to return. The wardens were as friendly and helpful as usual. Both the site and toilet facilities are kept clean and tidy. The site location is really good, just a few miles to Kendal, and a little further to lake Windermere. There are several circular walks from the site. You can buy the route maps from the site shop. The site is set adjacent to the river and there are lots of trees (coppices) and rocky outcrops. Children would love it, but the river is fast flowing and care should therefore be taken. There is a narrow suspension bridge for walkers to cross the river. Access to site is down a narrow lane with passing places. I would recommend a visit to this site.

Peace and quiet

I recently spent 6 days at this site, my favourite in the Club's portfolio over many years. The facilities are excellent, and the surroundings of the site are well maintained. Over the Winter and early Spring months a number of trees have had some surgery and others taken out completely to bring more light into the location and give the ground plants more light to grow in. This has resulted in a wild abundance of daffodils and I'm sure that they will be joined by masses of bluebells over the coming month. This is a great site for walkers, bikers and fishers plus there are many places of interest for all members of the family to enjoy within easy travelling distance.Kendal is a good centre for shopping and has plenty of historical interest. The site is in the Lake district and about 25 minutes drive(dependent on traffic)from Windermere, where there is boating for all sailors.
