Very poor access road to site

Hi Usual high standards for a CAMC site, but...... The access road to the site is very narrow. You may meet large motorhomes on this access road as you arrive. Members are allowed to check in before the allotted time, so members queue on the access road as members leave the site. The roads on the site are single track and since the cul-de-sacs for pitches are sometimes very small, it is best to park on the single track roads and check the suitability of the pitch before entering the cul-de-sac. This review is by a first time user of the site. If you are familiar with all the pitches, you may be able to go directly to a suitable pitch.

Nice site but...

This is a lovely site set in some beautiful woods. The only downside that I can write about is that the Internet site for this campsite says that the TV reception is poor, so we didn't take our television only to find that there are TV points next to the electric hookups. I found that the WI-Fi was next to useless as it constantly dropped the connection, this was after paying for a connection, at the prices that the club charge the Internet should be free. I can't fault the facilities or the wardens on site all are OK. The only other gripe that I have is that there needs to be signage for the exit off the site as it is possible to go round in circles looking for a way out.

Stunning site, we have booked to go back!

Absolutely stunning site. Great for dog walkers as walks from several parts of the site. Great location for accessing Lake's. Drive round site a couple of times to find a pitch that suits you. Lots of hidden pitches. Fish and chip van visits on Friday's, don't bother unless you like frozen chips and greasy fish.

Beautiful setting

A lovely wooded campsite giving a feeling of being tucked away from others. We arrived in a wet week, and this site does seem to hold the moisture!! However that does not spoil the appeal of the site. Some pitches are uneven, to be expected, so be ready. The surrounding areas and walks are lovely. The approach road is long and narrow, so late early arrivals, and late departures are not welcome, but I would not wish to reverse my van down the lane. TV reception , even with an aerial hook-up did not work, but I am not a TV addict fortunately. If you want to escape...this is for you.

Lovely in hot weather!

Kendal is a very wooded sloping site. Lovely in hot dry weather when shade is appreciated but in wet weather being dripped on all night from the trees above is far from quiet and the Lakes being an area known for a bit of rain I would advise attempting to find a pitch not directly under a tree. Finding a level pitch can also be a problem. Our TV hookup didn't work and radio reception isn't good either. However the Wi-Fi is quite good. The pretty river (which you will drive beside on the extensive scenic drive to get off the site) running by the site looks like fun for children and the adjoining woods have good paths if you have a dog. It's described as a peaceful site so we found the noise level from the main road much more intrusive than expected, perhaps it's quieter towards the bottom of the site. The toilet blocks are spotless and the reception, shop and info room excellently run by lovely staff. The site is well placed for visiting the southern Lakes. We have neither children or dogs with us now so if we return we probably would not use this site.

A week In Kedal

Jus back from a fantastic week at the club site at Kendal 09/07/2017. Spotless facilities and site the same. Arrived on the Sunday afternoon staff more than helpful given a free hand to choose a pitch that we liked good size pitch and well kept. great site to see all the local attractions not having to drive for miles. will be back soon.

Lovely site and lovely people

We just stayed at the site for a night, for a stopover on the way home from Henley on Thames. Our first impression was a good one, as we called on our road to let the site wardens know we'd seriously underestimated the travel time! The lady (wish we'd got her name) couldn't have been nicer and she gave us a wee call later on just to check our progress. They kept a pitch reserved for us and kept reception open till we arrived. The site is set in woodland - it has a very clever layout that gives the impression of being camped near to only another few vans. Facilities were spotless and well located. We didn't get to make the most of the location due to it being wet weather, but if you're looking for a peaceful and well run site in reach of the M6 and the Lakes, this is perfect.

I truly can see no issues here

We arrived late and were warmly welcomed. (This does not happen often enough in my opinion!) We were given the choice of any pitch that was free. We settled quickly and off my boy went on his travels on his bike, found some other kids and he was happy. The site is in a wood, to me its awesome to have random pitches in between trees with some privacy if you want it. No locked doors with locks too high for kids to get in to the shower blocks and toilets(Blackpool) No shortage of waste and service points. Great little shop and an information room with DVD's for hire and books to buy. What more can anyone want?

Lovely site

This is a site we have stayed at many times over the last four years and I have to say we absolutely love it, It's a large site but doesn't feel that way with most of the pitches tucked away in small glades. There are many lovely walks from the site, the toilet blocks are exceptionally clean which is a credit to the hard working wardens who are also extremely helpful and lovely people. I wouldnt hesitate at recommending this site for a weekend or longer period
