Brilliant seasonal ptich

Thoroughly chuffed and enjoyed our stay here as seasonal pitch. Mandy and Sue were and are fantastic. The site is extremely well maintained, toilets block always clean. Safe as well when kids were playing or cycling. Mandy and Sue were always on hand and always had time for a chat particularly with our 3 little girls who utterly adored them. Beaches and other activities were easily avai, even a 25 min drive is fine, site very peaceful an friendly at all times. A big thankyou from us for such a great season. Not just good for stop-overs.

Can see why the site reviews thus far focus on its location being ideal as a stopover site for those battling the traffic to and from the south-west hotspots. It’s location just off the A303 makes it ideal for this purpose. But if like us, you are just looking for somewhere not too busy for a quiet week or so, even in the middle of a hot summer and mid school hols, then this is the site for you. The coast would be in reach if desired but avoiding the summer hoards was our preference so we contented ourselves pottering around the Blackdown Hills. The site was unbelievably quiet, much less than 50% occupancy at mid-week little more than a dozen outfits in use which led to the feeling of an oasis of calm. No kids play equipment but plenty of grassy space to make their own entertainment. And really, really good wardens combined with great, well-kept facilities. What more could you want - other than a way of avoiding the queues back on the A303 on the way home!

An absolute Gem of a site with a small secure dog run.

We stayed here for two nights en route to Cornwall. The Wardens are so lovely helpful and welcoming. We were greeted so warmly. The site is clean spacious with immaculate facilities. Thank you to the wardens from Jules & Andy Pearson A message to the lovely wardens from our fur babies. This is the best site our human mummy & daddy have ever taken us too. There was a play area just for us and our furry freinds. We are sad to leave but excited that our Human mummy & daddy will be bringing us back Best holiday ever from Willow & Daisy XX

Excellent site and warm welcome

5 star review. Visited for one night on the way to Cornwall, wish we had stayed longer. A really clean, tidy and quiet site. Facilities second to none. Nothing for small children but this suited us fine.

Just an Oasis

On arrival the wardens were nice and friendly, explained the usual items. While setting up a warden called by just to see if we were ok and happy with our grass pitch, nice touch I thought. The site was kept very tidy and the two girls worked tirelessly. Whist this site won’t suit everybody due to its location, a little bit in the sticks we found it a little gem.

Quiet and relaxing...

This was our second stay at the Ilminster Club Campsite this year. The location of the site is convenient for us visiting relatives in Taunton. The site managers, Sue and Mandy are very welcoming and helpful. The site is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Directly from the site, you can do a three mile circular walk along narrow lanes and not get muddy or get lost. We have been recommended a couple of pubs offering good food just a short drive away, which we are yet to try. Something to consider for our next stay.

Brilliant reception

A most welcoming warden when booking in not sure if it was Mandy or Sue but many thanks very professional indeed. These two clearly enjoy their work. Lovely site and extremely convenient heading for a Cornwall Tour and stopping over ( sorry Mandy and Sue) but well worth staying much longer as we did only a few years ago. I kind of wish it had a larger and better designed shower block but appreciate there must be reason for the unusual raised block and therefore all the ramps for access. Well maintained and obviously loved by these two great job.

Excellent site

First trip of the year to the excellent ilminster site. I cannot fault this site, the grounds are very well kept and as usual the facilities are spotless, the wardens Mandy and Sue whilst being very professional are also warm and welcoming always ready to give advice if needed. Our favourite go to location.

A Perfect Summer

For the first time my husband and I decided to try a seasonal pitch booking, We chose the Ilminster site as we had stayed at the site on many occasions and found it a great base for visiting all the places we love. On our arrival we unhooked the caravan and found to our dismay that the motor mover wasn't working. Within minutes one of the wardens, Mandy, asked us if there was a problem and we explained the situation, Within minutes she was back with her tractor and sited the caravan perfectly. That first action summed up our experience all summer - nothing was too much trouble for the wardens Mandy and Sue. As well as keeping the site beautiful they were always there to offer advice, offer a helping hand and share a good chat and a laugh. So, as well as choosing a great site we had also found great wardens who ensured our first fixed seasonal pitch was a real success, From May through to September we visited and stayed several times. We walked the stunning coastal path and the Blackdown Hills, enjoyed Lyme Regis, Sidmouth and Seaton. We visited Glastonbury, Wells, Exeter, Exmouth and scores of pretty villages. On each return we came back to find our pitch beautifully maintained - Mandy would move our van to keep the grass perfectly trimmed. As well as that it was great to know that Mandy and Sue were there in our absence looking after our property and keeping it safe. The summer of 2021 wasn't a great time for everyone when it came to having a holiday but for us it will stay in our memories as a perfect summer on a lovely site with the best landladies it was possible to have! With grateful thanks Teresa and Bob Dawes
