What an awful site and I’m not joking

Well where do I start arrived here for one night stop over from Leeds to Cornwall for a peaceful rest and a good sleep wardens were really friendly but not sure if the one that dealt with us could not understand the Yorkshire language. We were told we were on plot 95 on the grass which we did not mind for one night until we saw the pitch it was very small and backed onto a basketball / football court with a mesh fence also there was a small playground and the oblong dog walk was here too a nightmare pitch don’t have a dog but was asked by several people when we were sat out were it was it was so small. At about 8 pm loud music started to play on one of the numerous campsites adjoining and at that time about 10 children were in the football area kicking a ball that came over the fence several times everybody decided that a good path to this was behind our van. The sound of the ball hitting the fence every few seconds was horrendous and this continued until 10 pm. Finally got to sleep woke the next morning at 7ish by loud shouting children on an adjacent site in the playground. We went out for food the night before and on the return the road was shut and security informed us the the road was blocked with a burning car. The area around the campsite is garish and scruffy the site is surrounded on all 4 sides by other mobile home campsites this makes the rules for the caravan club a farce. I’m not sure what people see in the site but I will not be visiting again and would like to warn people if you have no kids and a large dog it’s not the site for you. It would be better if this pitch was taken away and the ball pitch incorporated into the dog walk. Lastly Burnham on sea is like something out of the dark ages drunken people Meandering about in charge of children with only amusements and bars places to eat if I had to chose between Burnham on sea and watching paint dry I’d pick the latter

My goodness, you did have a bad experience. The site has static and touring sites on 3 sides and, yes, you can hear when people are chatting and laughing. That’s why we always pitch away from the boundaries if we can. I'm puzzled why you were allocated a pitch as it’s never happened to me. Was it the only pitch of the right type remaining when you arrived?

Dog owners are far better off taking their dogs on Berrow Beach where you can drive on and park foc after about 5pm. That’s what most folk tend to do or to walk to the dunes from the site. There are far better eateries than those in Burnham and nicer places to visit as well. It’s a shame you encountered the burning car but that was a one off event.

Another time I’d suggest trying one of the numerous CLs in the area for a stop over and check it out on Google Earth first.
