Happy to return to Hurn Lane

This was our 2nd visit to Hurn lane having used it last year as an overnight stop and been so impressed we decided to return and were not disappointed. It was our first experience of the Covid-19 arrangements and we were reassured as all went smoothly. No queues at the female blocks but the men were queuing a bit and we could have done with a bit of clarity around family groups. My husband and sons acted as if they were 3 individuals so all 3 queued in turn but in the womens blocks women were taking their kids in on one wrist band. Apart from that it was okay. From the site we walked to Brent Knowl and it was a lovely peaceful walk. Fellow walkers were really respectful too so no problems on narrow footpaths. We also cycled from the site past Brean to the National Trust car park at the end and walked up the headland. We know from past experience that the beaches are not for us - we are swimmers and they are not swimmers beaches so we were happy to walk along the beaches and save our dip in the sea for our next destination. We loved our grass pitch which was next to a hedge. The site was fairly quiet despite it being the main summer holiday so we will definitely keep this site on our list to return to. On our return journey we used Cheddar as our site to break our journey and are torn between the two really. We heard a bit of noise from the neighbouring site at night but it all quietened down by about 11 pm which we were all okay with. The site was immaculately clean and the wardens could be seen most of the time doing extra cleaning.
