Dog exercise area too small.....
Hurn Lane Club Site is well laid-out and landscaped, so doesn’t feel cramped when busy. The facilities are up to the usual standard but perhaps a little tired - is a refresh on the cards? There seem to be too few hooks in the ladies’ shower/privacy cubicles, so a couple more in each would be appreciated! The dog exercise area, however, is much too small and would not suit nervous dogs/owners as they would literally be cheek-by-jowel with others. The walk to the beach is via a narrow twisty lane with no footpath, and across the busy coast road, not ideal for those of us with dogs or children as the lane is well-used by vehicles and the blind bends can be intimidating. The Warden and staff are very helpful and friendly, and organise for fish and chips to be brought to the site on Wednesdays and Saturdays if you order before 5pm - they were among the best we have tasted!
Overall, the site is well worth a visit and is ideally placed for access to North Somerset and its attractions (Wells, Cheddar, etc.), but just be aware that access/egress on foot is not ideal.
