Peaceful spot in wonderful surroundings.
Just returned from a second visit to Hunters Moon. Everything in great order as we expect on Club sites. Two niggles. The Internet connection was intermittent and very slow on two of the days and the shower cubicle curtains were set too high allowing the splash to soak most of the floor in the 'dry' area. This is such a simple thing and some other sites have got it right.
Those points aside it really is a lovely place. For those who like walking, natural history, fabulous coastlines and characterful villages with great pubs you couldn't go anywhere better. Try the Bankes Arms at Studland for a good meal after a coastal walk. Get the O.S. Map for the area and you will see it is bursting with 'reserves' of all kinds. RSPB, Dorset Wildlife Trust, N.T; you just keep finding them. Wareham is an interesting place for a visit and local shopping whilst Dorchester and Poole offer the facilities of larger places if you want it. Weymouth and Bournemouth are easy distance if you want a resort. If you haven't visited this area you should put that right very soon. This site is open all year.
