My Recent break at Hunters Moon
I am not prone to complaining but I feel after this visit I need to mention a number of things to which I was disappointed 1 During our stay a Red cover was placed over the white post. We and our neighbours expected a disabled member but were totally dumfounded when a Motorhome towing a car arrived, removed the cover and set up with a large awning, with 2 fit people on board. The question is was this pitch reserved for this outfit (You cant reserve a pitch allegedly) Caravans drove past this prior looking for pitches, or were the Wardens reluctant to move them. Is it one rule for one or not? 2 The exit Barrier was stuck up for the duration of our stay. This was not at all very secure. Not impressed. 3 Parking of vehicles on the pitches is supposed to be to the right of the Caravan. Not on this visit. If this is the rule the Wardens should be strong enough to enforce it.
Response from The Club
Thank you for your recent review and I would like to be able to address your concerns regarding your stay on site.
I can confirm that Site Staff will only allocate a disabled pitch if they are told a member of the party is disabled when the member makes their booking. We would not expect Site Staff to question this. There are very few members who would book a disabled pitch who are not genuine although I am sorry and concerned to hear that you feel the system is being abused, however, not all peoples disabilities are apparent to the eye.
With regard to the exit barrier, the staff have confirmed there was a mechanical fault, due to the failing of the gearbox and were awaiting the repair company to source the parts so the repair could take place. I am happy to confirm this is now operational again. I would always advise speaking to the staff on site, if you ever have concerns during your stay as they would be more than happy to address these.
With regard to the parking of cars and erecting of awnings this would depend on how the outfit is pitched, as outfits can either pitch nose in or can be reversed on to the pitch, however, if the outfit, if reversed in, must be aligned with the marker post on the driver’s side and if pitched nose in, must be aligned with the marker post on the passenger side.
I do hope the above has gone some way in answering your concerns.
