Lovely site to visit the local attractions from
We stayed here as a couple for 2 nights in early February. Cold wet weather was no problem as pitches with gravel style hard standing were readily available. We pitched up on level ground (no levelling ramps needed) with a south facing pitch to enjoy what little available sunshine we could grab! Although tv reception is listed as poor, we had no problem picking up plenty of digital tv and radio shows from our caravans own aerial. If you are struggling there are tv booster points you can plug into onsite with the usual caravan club co-ax style connectors. The generous electricity hook up points meant our caravan was toasty and warm throughout our stay. Toilets and washrooms were immaculate and heated - lovely! Wardens are very helpful and friendly and the whole site is kept to a very high standard.
We chose the site for its location - we wanted to cycle to Monkey World and this site is only 6 miles approx. from the attraction along mainly quiet roads. Also the Sika trail is not far from site by bicycle and made for a scenic afternoon ride for me. Both bike rides were affected by the recent heavy rains with puddles galore but Hunters Moon site was as good as unaffected by this - very little standing water on site. We didn't have time to visit but if you know the area you will already know the tank museum is also very close to the site and ideal for a rainy day.
So if you are travelling as a couple or as a family this site has a lot to offer. We enjoyed our stay here and would happily revisit in the future. The location is great for the two big local attractions and if you feel up to it cycling to them is better for your health and cycles don't get stuck in traffic jams!
