Good for families

Good site, but bring a torch!

The warden team is great, as is usual. That's out of the way, then! The site is immediately adjacent to Bere Road, and although not a major road, is still pretty busy, including a stream of hgv's from the nearby quarry. The fully serviced pitches are close to this road. However, the site is quite large, so you would be able to head to the back pitches which would be at least 200 yards from Bere Road and the traffic noise. There's a good dog walk on site. It is my opinion that the site is dangerously under-lit during the hours of darkness, so make sure you bring a torch. The office is welcoming and the warden team keep the shop well stocked with essentials. The freshly baked scones are highly recommended, as is the clotted cream! Will I return? Probably not until the site lighting is much improved.

Good to learn that there is at least one site that is not over lit. I think there should be no lighting outside the toilets after 10:30pm. Those who want to roam around can take a torch, and all vehicles have plenty of lighting.

Those who want to enjoy nature and watch the stars are then not inconvenienced by the all pervading glare of a myriad of lights to no purpose.

I agree there is far to much lighting on sites, a torch is more than enough if you need to get around after dark and we have been to Hunters moon and it is well lit compered to a lot of sites,so a CL will not be on your list thenwink
